Building a community
Guidance
It Takes a Herd, founded in 2020, is an initiative to raise awareness about infertility and surrogacy. Our goal is to educate people about this common health issue and its impact on individuals and relationships. We want to assure people that infertility is not the end of their journey toward parenthood and that there are many paths to achieving this goal.
Through our grant program, we provide financial resources to those currently undergoing fertility treatment or facing the many expenses associated with surrogacy. Our mission is to foster a friendly, empathetic community that provides emotional support, informational resources, and a general sense of “you are not alone.”

Sandra’s Story
Like many infertile couples, my husband and I ended up at a fertility specialist after the requisite “one year” of trying to get pregnant on our own. We were considered young for the infertility world, my husband 31 and me 29. Our first fertility doctor did not see any reason why we weren’t getting pregnant on our own, so I got the ever-popular diagnosis of “unexplained female factor infertility”.
