In memory of Ella Rose Rauch, It Takes a Herd is proud to announce Ella’s Birthday Project.
On April 5, 2019, Miss Ella Rose was born asleep at 22 weeks & 6 days. After her passing, Ella’s parents, Chris & Jen, received devastating news from their doctors that it was strongly advised for Jen to no longer carry a child.
Chris & Jen decided that Ella’s story would not end on that very sad day in 2019. It became imperative to them to support other families who faced similar heartache and committed to raising awareness about infertility, pregnancy and infant loss, and surrogacy through their profit –It Takes a Herd.
In the midst of co-founding It Takes a Herd, Chris & Jen made a huge decision to grow their family through surrogacy. The process initially was difficult, and at times very draining, but they were beyond fortunate to find a wonderful surrogate through a trusted friend. After a long, emotional journey, Chris & Jen finally welcomed their rainbow twins, Oliver and Olivia, on February 16, 2021.
Chris & Jen discovered very quickly the financial strains couples face to have a child not on their own. This reality inspired Ella’s Birthday Project to provide grant money to families who are facing financial difficulties through IVF & surrogacy.
Your donations will help fund a new grant program designed to ease the financial burden and to provide a bit of a relief to families who wish to have a child through IVF or surrogacy.
Ella’s elephant pins are on sale again! Quantities are limited and proceeds from pin sales will go towards our grant program.
We thank you for your consideration & support as we remember sweet Ella on her 3rd heavenly birthday.
